Depression Treatment at Breakthrough

We’ve observed an epidemic rise in mental health illnesses in the current digital age, particularly among young folks. Depression, anxiety, suicide, personality disorders, overdoses, ADHD, and general malaise are at all-time highs. And that was before Covid; since then, depression rates have tripled, anxiety rates have surpassed all-time highs, and suicides have skyrocketed.

Individual Therapy: At Breakthrough we believe that establishing a therapeutic relationship with a physician is an important aspect of mental health rehabilitation. Our therapists help clients process their life experiences, work with complicated trauma and co-occurring issues, gain insight, and make connections, all while assisting them in putting the pieces back together in their lives.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT assists clients in overcoming cognitive distortions that obstruct emotional well-being and can lead to self-destructive behavior. This is a goal-oriented, short-term psychotherapy treatment that has been shown to be successful in treating various types of depression by examining the relationship between ideas, feelings, and behaviors. CBT is a tried-and-true, evidence-based treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): Our clients learn a variety of strategies to help them control their moods, manage uncomfortable emotional states, and become more conscious and productive in interpersonal situations. Borderline personality disorder, suicidal thoughts, depression, and mood disorders, as well as acute emotional states associated with trauma, have all been shown to benefit from DBT.

Co-occurring Alcohol Treatment: Many times, a depressed individual will try to self-regulate by drinking, doing drugs, or engaging in other self-destructive habits. When nothing else seems to work, these actions appear to provide some relief. These habits, however, frequently result in co-occurring disorders, which end up doing the opposite and can intensify depression.

Medication Management: One of the most successful therapies for depression is the combination of medicine and talk therapy, according to research. Our Medical Director is knowledgeable about the many different types of anti-depressants and is well-versed in the latest research findings as well as new medications on the market.
